Get Glowing Skin: How to Perform an At-Home Facial Massage with a Kansa Wand
Many people are just discovering the skin care benefits of a 5000 year old massage device: the Kansa Wand. However, facial massage has always been a key factor in all of Repêchage’s professional and at-home products, and it is for this reason that Repêchage loves working with their own Kansa Wand, a tool they have been using in their facials and at home skincare routines.
But, why use a Kansa Wand and exactly how do you use it? Here’s a quick rundown of the benefits assigned to this interesting and easy-to-use device, as well as a step-by-step massage you can perform at-home to reap all the benefits of the massage stimulation as well as the oil or serum you use.
A Kansa Wand is a dome-shaped face massage tool that is designed to stimulate the skin’s surface, and is beneficial for all skin types. This portable, hand-held esthetic tool has a carved, seasoned wood handle for better grip and handling with a bronze cap, an alloy created by lead-free copper and tin. Copper has been used in the Ayurvedic tradition to help refine and for deep cleansing, and is reported to help balance the skin’s pH.
The rolling action of the wand on the face also helps with lymphatic drainage, while helping with stimulation of the skin’s surface, creating glowing, vibrant skin.
When used in conjunction with seaweed-based serum or oil, this facial massage tool:
- Can help soften and hydrate even the driest, most compromised skin.
- Help deeply moisturize the skin surface
- Help the skin appear toned, tightened and firmed
- Reduce the appearance of puffiness, fine lines, redness and irritation
The Repêchage® Kansa Facial Massage Ritual
Perform the following facial massage with the Repêchage® Kansa Wand at home to see glowing, vibrant, hydrated skin.
Put ten drops of facial oil or serum on the face and gently apply into the skin. Then, proceed with Kansa Wand massage.
- Start on the bottom of the neck gliding the Kansa Wand in and out upwards to the chin, stroking upwards and outwards on both sides of the face.
- Circle up to the center of the forehead and stroke gently back and forth above the bridge of the nose.
- Circle down along the perimeter of the face, then upwards, making small circles on the center of the forehead, then stroke downwards on the perimeter of the face on the opposite side.
- Come back up and make small circles on the forehead then glide down in a circle under the eye, back and forth to the mouth and down to the chin. Repeat on the other side of the face, gliding in and out. Use the Kansa Wand to stroke downwards on the neck and up to the earlobes, creating small circles as you stroke upwards to the forehead.
- Circle down to the chin area, creating small circles on the lower perimeter of the face, then circle up with Kansa Wand, creating small circles again on the forehead.
- Glide the Kansa Wand around the perimeter of the face, creating a full circle around the face and back up to the forehead three times.
- Circle down to the chin, going in and out downwards to the neck and décolleté area.
- Gently massage the earlobe area and behind the ear lobe with gentle, circular motions.
- Glide under the perimeter of the face to the chin and create small circles under the chin and jawline, moving upwards to the opposite side of the face and repeat movements at the earlobe and behind the earlobe on the opposite ear.
- Glide under the jawline again to the other side and press lightly at the temples.
To clean and maintain the Kansa Wand, wipe bronze head after use with a swab of vinegar and then wipe dry and store in a clean, dry container. Do not rinse or soak in water.
